Connection

Company while doing ordinary things

You can spend time together without inventing an occasion.

LushClover · 02

The errands fill the afternoon

There is a parcel to collect, a grocery list and a plant that needs a bigger pot. You decide there is no time to see anyone until the weekend is finished.

LushClover · 03

Consider an overlap

Would a friend enjoy coming to the market? Could you fold laundry while catching up by phone? Ask rather than assuming your chore would be pleasant company for them.

LushClover · 04

Say what the plan really is

“I am going to the garden store Saturday. Want to come along for an hour?” An honest invitation lets the other person decide without discovering afterward that the outing is mostly errands.

LushClover · 05

Keep room for attention

If the task needs all your concentration, choose another time. Being together does not require constant eye contact, but it helps to have enough attention left to hear the answer to a question.

LushClover · 06

Let ordinary time be enough

There may be no photograph or memorable event to report afterward. You saw each other, carried a bag, talked about the week. That can be the whole point of the afternoon.
