Everyday life

You don’t have to be talented to enjoy something.

Let an interest exist before it becomes a verdict on your ability.

LushClover · 02

The first attempt looks like a first attempt.

The drawing is uneven. The recipe tastes odd. You lose track of the steps.

Then you decide you are not the kind of person who does this.

LushClover · 03

What if that isn’t the question yet?

Did any part interest you? Was there a moment you wanted to understand?

You can use curiosity as information before asking whether you have talent.

LushClover · 04

Learning can have a place in ordinary life.

The NHS includes learning new skills among its wellbeing suggestions. It encourages enjoyable activities without making exams or qualifications the point.

An evening interest can remain an evening interest.

LushClover · 05

Choose a kinder first goal.

Learn one chord. Make one simple meal. Try one page.

Pick something that describes an action rather than an identity you have to earn.

LushClover · 06

Let the rough version stay visible.

You may improve it. You may laugh at it. You may choose something else.

You don’t need to hide every trace that you were new.

LushClover · 07

Keep one thing that interests you.

Return because there is something you want to try, not because you have proved you deserve to be there.

Enjoyment does not require an audition.

Stay a little longer

Another thought to take with you.
