Work has a time. Appointments have a time. Other people’s requests have a time.

Listen to one song. Step outside. Read a few pages. Sit without adding another task.

Pick something available to you, rather than an ideal break that needs an empty house.

Keep essential care and time-sensitive responsibilities in view. Then choose one nonurgent thing to leave until later.

A pause can be planned rather than stolen.

Leave one box unticked on purpose.

If it can safely wait, let it wait through a small moment of your own.

The list can hold unfinished work without holding your whole evening.
