You can miss a version of your life

Sometimes what you miss is a rhythm, not a place you want to return to.

LushClover · 02

An old photograph catches you

You see a familiar kitchen or a group from another period of life. You do not want every part of that time back. Still, something in the picture hurts a little.

LushClover · 03

Name the particular thing

Was it easy company, a sense of possibility, or knowing what each week looked like? The detail may tell you more than the broad statement that everything used to be better.

LushClover · 04

Keep the memory whole

There were probably difficult parts too, but you do not have to list them to cancel the feeling. You can remember one thing fondly without rewriting the entire period as perfect.

LushClover · 05

Look for what can travel forward

Perhaps you want a regular meal with friends or more time for an old interest. The exact past cannot be recreated, but a valued part may suggest something to make room for now.

LushClover · 06

Let remembering be enough sometimes

Not every old photograph requires a new plan. You can pause, miss what mattered, and continue with the afternoon. A memory can have a place without becoming a destination.
