Everyday life

Eat one meal sitting down

An ordinary meal can have a place in the day instead of happening between everything else.

LushClover · 02

Lunch becomes a moving target

You take bites while answering a message, finding a charger and checking a delivery. Later you barely remember what you ate. The meal was present, but you were occupied elsewhere.

LushClover · 03

Choose a workable moment

If your circumstances allow, clear a place and sit for part of a meal. It need not be silent, beautiful or free of family interruptions. A chair and a little time are enough to try.

LushClover · 04

Notice one detail

The warmth of a bowl, the texture of bread, or a flavor you like can bring attention to the experience. You do not need to examine every bite or turn eating into a task.

LushClover · 05

Let comfort guide the experiment

If close attention to eating feels unhelpful, skip that part. You can enjoy company, music or a view instead. There is no requirement to make every meal a mindfulness exercise.

LushClover · 06

Keep it ordinary

Wash the plate and continue with the day. You have not discovered a perfect routine. You have simply given one familiar part of life a little more room to be experienced.

Stay a little longer
